The company was established in 1992 and commenced commercial trunked radio operation on 1993. After undergoing change of ownership, an MNC (Telstra of Australia) became its majority shareholders.

In October 1998 Telstra surrendered its majority shareholding to Norway International Limited. Finally in year 2000, Norway International limited became the majority owner of the company after the rest of the minority shareholders sold out their stakes.

During the 8 years plus that the company has been in operation, it has mainly focus on providing commercial trunked radio services to companies throughout the island of Java and a number of other places. Among the major customers are MNCs in courier service, security companies, oil and gas, banks, embassies and utilities.

The current network from Simoco was replaced by a system from Fylde Microsystems limited. The new system can increase the capacity of the network by a significant measure and add the number of features available for the customers.

The company also offers services AVL (Automatic Vehicle Locator) to the consumer. The service will offer comprehensive information on the where about of every vehicle of the customers. The service is especially useful for companies with large number of fleets.

Nexcom company itself is currently certified to ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
